Kate Hudson has never been afraid to take a risk with her fashion, as her most recent appearance on a red carpet, at the Golden Globes 2015 earlier this month, can prove. As of late, she’s been favoring daring designs with cut-out panels, so no wonder she showed up in Paris in the most daring to date.

Kate and her equally famous mom Goldie Hawn were Donatella Versace’s special guests for the Spring 2015 Haute Couture show for Atelier Versace, and they both strove to make quite an impression on photographers outside the venue.

It was Kate who truly succeeded.

Celebrities are a staple at high profile fashion shows: the bigger the show, the bigger the celebrities seated front row. Of course, the perks of attending this type of events, besides the obvious (exposure, getting to see a new collection in person and before the rest of the world), also include getting to wear and keep some items, and plenty of goody bags.

For this show, Donatella found herself the perfect celebrity spokesperson, as Kate wore one of the dresses also included in the show and modeled by Eva Herzigova. The only difference between the two was that Kate’s was knee-long, while Eva’s reached the floor.

To say that the dress was bold was an understatement: as you can see in the photo included in this article as well, it featured several sheer panels that left very little to the imagination but that didn’t really seem to reveal anything particularly embarrassing.

In other words, Kate was showing a lot of skin without coming across as cheap or too hungry for attention. The Daily Mail has more photos from outside the venue, including of the back of the dress, which was even more spectacular than the front, if you can imagine.

Versace and its daring, gravity-defying dresses

Kate and Versace seem to be, as they say, at the beginning of a very beautiful friendship, because the other gravity-defying, daring dress she wore at the Golden Globes 2015 was also a creation from this fashion house.

Versace has a long history of creating outfits that only the most confident woman can pull off. At least 2 of these have now become iconic: the safety pin dress worn by Elizabeth Hurley in 1994 at the premiere of “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and the green plunging dress worn by Jennifer Lopez at the Grammys in 2000.

These two, together with the more recent two worn by Kate Hudson are not exactly figure-friendly, in the sense that only a woman with fit figures like these celebrities have could pull it off. Still, Kate looks sensational in it, doesn’t she?
