Ghanta Awards: Salman, Priyanka, Sonakshi top nominations

Nominations for Ghanta Awards, India's answer to the Hollywood Razzies, are out. Although our film-makers seem to be in no mood to show much of imagination in what they serve by way of 'entertainment', the organisers of Ghanta Awards appear to be getting more creative with category names every year.

The annual 'awards ceremony' aimed at 'honouring' the worst of Bollywood cinema, has this year introduced a few rather ingeniously titled segments such as Shit Nobody Saw, Most Controversial Controversy and the Special Sajid Khan Lifetime Achievement Award (which incidentally has been conferred upon Sajid Khan). Almost all that you found ridiculous has made it to the nomination roster this year, though the absolute absence of Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year has indeed raised a few eyebrows.

We guess, like sundry awards functions that dole out trophies for best efforts, a wee bit influence works at a ceremony recognising the worst, too. A highlight is Saif Ali Khan's nomination in both Worst Actor and Worst Actress categories, obviously a dig at his botched-up drag act.

Priyanka Chopra, who has surprised many winning Best Actress for Mary Kom at a few popular awards, leads the race for Worst Case of Miscasting here for the same film.
