Wasan Knowledge Hub, the educational initiative of the Wasan Group, in association with The English Manner and Style Directions, launched The English Manner Finishing and Style Academy, at their new premises. Special guests at the launch included Ben Aldred, First Secretary, The British Deputy High Commission, Mumbai and Sushmita Sen. The academy brings together one of UK’s most reputed etiquette and styling companies to India.
This venture is a first-of-its kind in the country and marks the entry of two reputed and organised international experts in the field of corporate styling and etiquette training. The event commenced with a presentation by the Managing Director of The English Manner, Jimmy Beale. “Founded in 2001, we provide worldwide personal development, cultural, hospitality and social skills training to an international clientele of all ages,” said Beale.
Added Carol Spenser, Founder and Managing Director of Style Directions, “After the completion of our programme, its valuable personal knowledge will help you to select your most flattering garments, colours, hairstyles, glasses and other accessories. Moreover, you will learn to build a flexible and fashionable wardrobe to suit your age, lifestyle and personality and give you an understanding of how to update it each year to keep your look contemporary.”

Sushmita spoke about the importance of grooming in one’s life. She elaborated on how effective grooming and etiquette have helped her excel in the varied roles she plays in real life — that of an actress, model, entrepreneur etc. She said, “Today, everyone from children to young adults and fresh professionals can get an early head-start in life by mastering the most important tool of success — right etiquette and grooming. Perfect styling, coupled with etiquette gives one charm and poise and sets them apart.”
The modules offered by the academy cater to the overall development of individuals from all age groups, backgrounds and are formulated to help them achieve their social and professional ambitions. True to this offering, the academy will offer effective etiquette and grooming lessons to children above the age of four years, followed by modules for young adults; young professionals; corporate clients of all levels and individuals.
