Apple Inc. Reveals 12-Inch Macbook Air With Retina Display

Apple, Inc. has already released its new product line for 2015, including a 12-inch MacBook Air with Retina display. The manufacturer is also releasing a rumored 13-inch and 15-inch Macbook Pro with Retina display. These Apple, Inc. Macbooks are similar to the ones already available on the Apple website but will now include the new Broadwell chipset.

Fans of Apple, Inc. will be happy to hear this news. There were no releases of the MacBook Pro Retina last year, according to the Gospel Herald. Apple, Inc. also has something planned for the new MacBook Pro line for 2015. The Retina Display technology has been a major hit with the MacBook Pro, along with the iPad and iPhone. The later version for this year is also rumored to include a faster processor and updated specs.

Apple, Inc. has also given some details about the MacBook Air. According to a Dell representative via the Motley Fool, the new Retina MacBook Air will include features like a Core M processor. The representative noted that the Apple Macbook Air will not include the “full” Core i5/i7 parts.

“The Intel Core M processor, to my knowledge, uses the exact same silicon die as the 15-watt Core i3/i5/i7 chips with the lower graphics configuration (known as GT2; the higher-end configuration is GT3). The difference is that the die is attached to a slimmer chip package that reduces its footprint. The chip also runs at lower performance levels in order to ‘fit’ into a smaller power envelope.

“I believe a 12-inch Retina MacBook Air using a Core M processor is likely to offer lower performance than the Haswell processors found inside today’s 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models. However, if Apple does a good job with the industrial design of the system, the chip might be able to run at higher speeds for longer, avoiding the seemingly embarrassing performance issues experienced by the Core M inside the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro.”

Photos of Apple’s Retina MacBook Air have already hit the internet. The laptop appears to have a slimmer design. Some users may not like what it offers performance-wise, but they will be very happy with its portability. Apple’s new MacBook Pro line of laptops are attractive to performance-hungry users as the gap between the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air continues to widen.

Dell also has its eye on the MacBook Air. The Director of XPS Product Marketing, Donnie Oliphant, has noticed its design, but also had some words to say about Apple, Inc.’s new Air.

“We definitely believe that the next MacBook Air is going to be a very aggressive design. [But] It’s going to be Core M…2.2 pounds if not lighter.”

Apple, Inc. will ship the 12-inch MacBook Air in March, around the same time as the release of its smart watch. However, Apple, Inc. hasn’t provided the final details of the MacBook Air as of yet. The MacBook Pro Retina isn’t expected to release until April.

The price of the 2015 MacBook Pro Retina is rumored to be same as Apple’s current prices for its MacBook Pro machines. Apple, Inc. recently dropped the price of its last MacBook Pro models to $1,099 for the non-Retina 13-inch model $2,499 for the 15-inch model. No official price announcement has not yet been made for Apple’s MacBook Retina Air.

According to a recent report on the Inquisitr, Apple, Inc. is cutting back on shipments for the iPad Mini. The manufacturer won’t comment on the reason for cutting back on the shipments until they feel it’s the right time to do so.
