PMK leader S. Ramadoss has urged the State government to regulate admissions in private schools as they had started admissions for the next year even before the results of half-yearly exam results were out.
In a statement here, he said even though the Directorate of Matriculation Schools had issued circular advising schools not to issue applications before April 4, many schools had started issuing applications. “Moreover, these schools are collecting between Rs 500 and Rs 1000 as application fee. They also collect thousands of rupees for the construction of buildings and other infrastructure development,” he said adding that since admissions were closed much before the stipulated period, schools could not accommodate students from the neighbourhood.
The PMK leader also tweeted saying the display of portraits of the former Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, who has been convicted in disproportionate assets case, on Republic Daly floats was shameful.
