Gary Sinise Selling Los Angeles Home

This article is more than 9 years old.

Actor Gary Sinise, “CSI: NY” star and, perhaps more notably, Forrest Gump’s shrimp boat partner, quietly upgraded to a new home and is selling his elegant Los Angeles retreat.

Sinise purchased the home in 2008 and isn’t selling it for much more than he paid back in the depths of the housing crisis. The listing, held by Kimberley Pfeiffer of Coldwell Banker Malibu Colony, is currently $3.895 million.

The 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom 5,200-square-feet Calabasas home is an oasis indoors and outdoors. Understated elegant interiors feature built-ins, fireplaces and detailed molding throughout. A guest suite enjoys direct access to a shuttered private terrace.

Indoor-outdoor living is easy here. Outside, the home comes complete with a waterfall. An outdoor living room with a fireplace invites lounging, but a cabana and unique pool with a stunning view beckon, too. The home is located in The Oaks community, offering access to amenities such as tennis courts and a gym.

Sinise just finished with “CSI: NY” and is moving to a spin-off of “Criminal Minds” as he moves into his new home. The new place is larger at 6 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms and 9,400 square feet. He purchased the home under-the-radar through a trust early last year for $5.25 million.

On 28 acres, it’s even bigger than one of Tom Hanks’ former properties — a Spanish-style home in the Pacific Palisades — and Sally Field’s former Malibu retreat.
