Assam attack- Bengaluru police nab key operative

In a major breakthrough in the Assam attack case, the Bengaluru police have nabbed the organizing secretary of the NFDB (S). The police arrested Sanju Bodoloi who is also alleged to be involved in the massacre that took place at Sonitpur and Kokrajhar districts on December 23 2014 killing over 80 persons including women and children.

The police arrested Sanju aged 27 years from Electronic City based on inputs. It was said that he had come down to Bengaluru and taken shelter at the Electronic City area after taking part in the Assam attack.

Police say he has confessed:

The police during the questioning of Sanju found that he had taken part in the attack. Sanju told the police that he is the organizing secretary of the NFDB(S) and had trained in Bangladesh.

The police say that they are coordinating with the Assam police and also the NIA. We are waiting for them to make a request so that we could transfer him to Assam for further investigation, the police in Bengaluru also said.

Wanted in several cases:

Sanju is wanted in several other cases apart from the Assam attack. He is said to be on the wanted list of both the NIA and the Assam police.

As an organizing secretary he played a key role in shaping his terrorist organization. He is also said to have masterminded several other attacks, the police also claim.
