Swine flu cases test negative

Vizagites can heave a sigh of relief as test reports of three out of the four suspected swine flu cases reported in the city during the last few days showed negative result and report on the remaining case is awaited.

District Medical and Health Officer J. Sarojini said that on Monday that test of swab collected from a six-year-old boy from China Gantyada, who had undergone treatment at a private hospital, for 20 days before being admitted in the KGH on January 23 and died after few hours, was negative to swine flu.

A seven-year-old girl from Pendurthi admitted in the KGH with swine flu symptoms on January 23 and also her mother who died due to respiratory problem the previous day, both tested negative.

Report on the swab test done on a four-year-old boy from Isukathota, who is undergoing treatment at the KGH is awaited, but he is recovering fast, Dr. Sarojini said.
