JAIPUR: Rajasthan joined the country to celebrate the 66th Republic Day today as Governor Kalyan Singh and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje unfurled the tricolour amid tight security.
The Governor took salute of a parade of the state's various police forces at Sawai Mansingh stadium here.

The parade was led by Commander Chunaram, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Training) of Rajasthan Police Academy.

A cultural programme was also organised. The Chief Minister, Assembly Speaker Kailash Meghwal, state BJP president Ashok Parnami, and local MLAs and MPs were among the spectators.

The security agencies had turned SMS stadium into a fortress amid a few terror alerts and recent reports of infiltration of terrorists through India-Pakistan border in the state, a senior police official said.
