The DA yesterday asked parliament's portfolio committee on Public Enterprises to summon South African Airways acting CEO Nico Bezuidenhout to explain the discrepancies in his CV.

Following a Promotion of Access to Information Act application, the DA said it now had prima facie evidence that he misrepresented his qualifications in his CV.

In a 2006 CV, the DA said Bezuidenhout stated that he had a BCom from the University of South Africa. I n the amended version submitted in 2010, Bezuidenhout said the completion of his degree had been delayed.

"Any employer looking to employ Bezuidenhout on the basis of his 2006 CV would believe he had a BCom," DA MP Natasha Michael said.

SAA spokesman Tlali Tlali said "There is no basis to suggest, let alone conclude, that there was misrepresentation of qualifications".

Commenting on the DA's call, he said: "We understand our obligations towards the shareholder and Parliament. We remain committed towards discharging these obligations".

The Sunday Times reported in November that in two annual reports,  Bezuidenhout was described as having a BCom degree and an MBA, but only has a matric.
