KHUZDAR: A passenger coach going to Quetta from Karachi was set on fire by gunmen in Wadh area of Khuzdar district on Sunday, security officials said.

Levies officials said that unidentified gunmen intercepted the coach in Wadh, forced the passengers to disembark and set the vehicle on fire.

“The coach was gutted as there was no fire brigade service available in Wadh,” Levies sources said.

Soon after the incident, personnel of Frontier Corps and Levies Force launched a serach in the area to trace out the people involved in the arson attack. No arrest was reported.

Meanwhile, transporters plying their coaches and buses on various routes in the region condemned the attack and announced a strike for Monday. They called for immediate arrest of arsonists.
