Mandi reels from petrol paucity

MANDI BAHAUDDIN- Petrol shortage continues in the district as some petrol stations remain closed while those functioning have long queues of vehicles including motorbikes. Limited quantity is supplied to each vehicle. When asked in-charge of a petrol pump told that they got 5,000 litres on a daily basis and when it was sold they closed the pump. On the other side one rickshaw driver said petrol was being sold at Rs150 per litre on the black market in plastic bottles. There are illegal agencies that purchase from petrol pumps at rate Rs100 per litre and later sell it to drivers at Rs150 per litre. Citizens are facing hardships and some of lawyers and public servants have purchased bicycles to reach offices in time.
Meanwhile Power and gas supply has attained alarming situation due to long unscheduled load shedding. In the morning and evening gas supple is almost stopped and when it appears its pressure is too low to cook the food. People found them gripped in everyday increasing hardships.
