No alteration in representation for district

January 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - Warangal:

The dismissal of Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah and induction of Kadiam Srihari does not alter the political representation of the district in the Cabinet of the new Telangana State. The district is now represented by A Chandulal and Kadiam Srihari in the Cabinet and S Madhusudhana Chary as Assembly Speaker. Senior MLA D.Vinay Bhaskar is now Parliament Secretary incharge of the Chief Minister’s office.

The caste equation too remains intact as both Mr T Rajaiah and Mr Kadiam Srihari belonged to Scheduled Caste communities, though sub-castes are different. Mr Rajaiah belongs to Madiga sect while Mr Srihari is a Mala within the SC community. The district has 10 MLAs of the ruling TRS with the TDP MLA from Parkal, Ch Dharma Reddy, joining the party recently. The ruling party has two MPs – Warangal MP Kadiam Srihari and Mahabubabad MP A. Sitaram Naik. Mr Srihari is required to quit his MP seat with his induction into the State Cabinet.
