Deputy Commissioner V.P. Ikkeri on Sunday called upon the youths to voluntarily enrol their names on the voters’ list.
Inaugurating a programme organised by the district administration to mark National Voters’ Day here, Mr. Ikkeri said, on attaining the age of 18, youths should contact their jurisdictional booth-level officials and register their names on the voters’ list. Earlier, students of various educational institutions took out a procession in Shivamogga to create public awareness about voting rights.
‘Enrol voluntarily’

Principal District and Sessions judge R.J. Satish Singh on Sunday inaugurated the National Voters’ Day programme organised by the Hassan district administration.
Mr. Singh urged the youth to enrol their names in the voters’ list voluntarily and make proper use of their right to vote, in the interest of the country’s welfare .
Umesh H. Kusugal, Deputy Commissioner; H.N. Gopala Krishna, Additional Deputy Commissioner; and Ravi D. Channannavar, Superintendent of Police, were present.

M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan, Deputy Commissioner, has said that every citizen should actively participate in the electoral process.
Speaking at the National Voters’ Day programme here, he said it was the duty of all eligible citizens to participate in the electoral process.
Additional Deputy Commissioner B.R. Poornima administered the voters’ day pledge to the audience. Mandya tahsildar Priyadarshini, and Information Officer R. Raju were present.
