Love is the centre of every relationship. People could be disciplined only through love and affection, and every colour has its own significance, but real beauty lies when it unifies like a rainbow, Mata Amirtanandamayi Devi said here on Thursday.

Addressing the devotees at the Satsang on Amirtha Vidyalayam School campus in Saravanantheri near Kanyakumari, the Mata said lust, greed and ego clouded people like cancer and led them to commit sins.

“The incidents of atrocities on women happening around us are an indication of degradation of values in our society,” she added.

As part of the all-India tour organised by Mata Amritanandamayi Math every year to spread the message of love and compassion among the followers, Amma (as she is fondly called by her devotees) reached Kanyakumari on Wednesday evening.

She said lust, alcohol and drug abuse apart from greed for money were the three forms of insanity that lurked among the people these days.

The Mata embraced and blessed every devotee. The Sathsang lasted till early morning of Friday.
