College rock bands and professional groups will play a show at Delhi University as part of a campaign to get young voters out on February 7. District Electoral Officer (North) Madhu Teotia said Delhi University, which comes under the district, would host a rock show on February 1.

“We are yet to finalise the exact venue, but we will invite college bands and a couple of professional bands to perform at the university. This will help us connect with young and first-time voters,” said Ms. Teotia.

She said that walkathons, cycle and rickshaw rallies, and a performance by Asmita Theatre Group were on the cards. The Delhi election office will finalise its activities under the SVEEP programme on January 30.

In North Delhi, EVMs will be displayed at public places so that voters can get familiarised with them. Ms. Teotia said, “We will be training people how to use the EVM at Metro stations .” Meanwhile, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer celebrated National Voters Day on Sunday. Wrestler Sushil Kumar, who is the ‘State Icon’ of CEO Delhi, was present. CEO Chandra Bhushan Kumar administered the “voter’s pledge” to officials.
