Bullet-ridden body of an unidentified 30-year-old woman was recovered in Billhaur police circle of the district on Sunday.

Bullet-ridden body of an unidentified 30-year-old woman was recovered in Billhaur police circle of the district on Sunday.
Locals found the body lying in a pool of blood and informed the police. The police said that the body was found near a temple in the jungle close to Uttaripura area of Billhaur, said a senior police officer. Her identity was yet to be ascertained. Several suspects were being questioned by the police, said an officer.

“An FIR has been lodged with Billhaur police station against unidentified men. Sniffer dogs too were called in but failed to make any headway,” said an investigating officer. Police said scratch marks were found on the body pointing towards a struggle.
“She may have suffered injuries during the struggle,” a senior police officer said, adding that she was wearing brinjal colour salwar-suit’ and pink pullover.
Police suspect that the woman was murdered on Saturday night and her body was dumped at the spot by two to three persons, who arrived on the scene in a four-wheeler.
The body was taken to the mortuary, where it would be preserved for identification. “We have also apprised the Kannauj police, where a woman was reported to be missing,” said the police.
