Ameesha Patel kicked about playing a double role in her maiden production

Ameesha Patel and Kuunal Goomer, who have turned producers with Desi Magic, are keeping their fingers crossed. “The film’s teaser got a positive feedback from the industry as well as the audience,” says the actress.

The romantic comedy, which releases this summer, has Ameesha playing a double role. “It’s my toughest role so far. One character lives in Punjab and the other, in Europe. My two characters have many scenes together.So, I had to keep changing my body language and dialogue delivery accordingly. It was a happy, creative challenge,” says Ameesha, who romances Zayed Khan and Sahil Shroff in the film.
Made under the banner of Ameesha Patel Productions, the movie promises to be a family entertainer. “It’s a mix of Indian traditions – some Punjabi flavour with a western touch as well. To lend authenticity, we roped in actors from Chandigarh and Amritsar to play Punjabi characters,” she says. The film marks the directorial debut of Mehul Atha and also features Randhir Kapoor, Lillete Dubey and Ravi Kishan. DJ Aqeel and Ankit Tiwari have composed the music.
Kuunal, who conceptualised the movie, says, “I hope it will appeal to the front-benchers as well as the family audience. The film’s music is its trump card.”
