Ed Sheeran hangs out with Claudine Keane following intimate Whelan’s VH1 gig

It was a night of highs as Ed Sheeran took to Whelan’s stage to play to a delirious crowd and afterwards posed for photographs with fans including WAG Claudine Keane.

Following the successful VH1 gig which was broadcast live from the venue last night, Ed took posed for a photo with Robbie Keane's wife Claudine who tweeted: "Such an amazing night at Ed Sheeran concert. He is such an incredible talent and a fantastic guy."

Meanwhile Ed also caught up with his friend Laurence Kinlan who stars as Elmo in the popular RTE drama Love/Hate which is much loved by the singer.

The 'X' singer is an avid follower of the show which saw gang leader Nidge meet a grim end in the season finale late last year.

Laurence tweeted: “I have a sore head. Last night was very special though. This man had Whelan’s absolutely rocking.”

Meanwhile, Ed tweeted his delight at the success of the show: “Had a fantastic time last night filming Storytellers. Thank you to Whelan’s for putting it on. Such a fantastic venue.”

Earlier in the day Ed signed a poster for the staff of the popular Dublin venue.

“To Whelan’s, Everything for me started here and I hope to always play here if you’ll have me. Lots of love, Ed.”

While the broadcast was a huge success, more than one hundred fans were left outside the event as they were told there was no tickets left.

Thousands of fans entered a competition for a chance to see the star perform in the Dublin music venue tonight for his 'The VHI Storytellers Live' gig. According to the organisers, winners were picked at random and there were 400 tickets to give away.

However, winners who had failed to read the terms and conditions of the tickets were shocked to find out that the tickets had all been snapped up by the time they arrived to get them. As common practice worldwide, the TV production oversubscribed as a percentage of people who apply for tickets fail to turn up.
