Writer Tara Ison was at Newtonville Books on Thursday night to talk about her new release, “Reeling Through Life: How I Learned to Live, Love and Die at the Movies.” The book is about how we’re all affected by cinema, and how movies taught her to deal with life’s ups and downs. We should mention that Ison is responsible for a film that helped shape our lives; she co-wrote the screenplay for the 1991 classic “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead.”
