Awards announced

: Poet Neelamperoor Madhusudanan Nair and journalist T.N. Gopakumar have been selected for the Pandalam Kerala Varma poetry and media awards for 2015 respectively.

The awards have been instituted by the Mahakavi Pandalam Kerala Varma Smaraka Samithy. Samithy president K.S. Ravikumar and secretary P. Ravi Varma told reporters here on Saturday that Mr. Madhusudanan Nair was selected for the award for his anthology Manassu Thurakkumbol and Mr. Gopakumar for his column Shangumughom in the Kala Kaumudi weekly and Kanadi aired on Asianet News. The awards comprise Rs.10,000 each, a citation, and a memento. The awards will be presented at a function to be held at the YMCA hall here at 5.15 p.m. on January 31. — Special Correspondent
