Dimitar Berbatov scored the only goal of the game as AS Monaco won their fourth match in a row at Lille.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker netted in the 57th minute when he headed home Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco's free-kick.

Berbatov could have added a second late on when he flashed a volley just wide while Joao Moutinho also missed two good chances in what was a dominant display from the visitors.

The win ensures fifth-placed Monaco keep up the pressure on the top four in Ligue 1.

Guingamp held on for a 3-2 victory over Lorient despite being reduced to 10 men in the 80th minute.

Goals from Claudio Beauvue and Christophe Mandanne put Guingamp 2-0 ahead and they still led by a two-goal margin after Benjamin Jeannot and Beauvue exchanged penalties at either end.

But they were forced to endure a nervy finish after Younousse Sankhare was sent off for receiving a second yellow card and Dorian Leveque scored an own goal.

Montpellier eased to a 4-0 victory over Nantes thanks to goals from Paul Bastien Lasne, Kevin Berigaud, Anthony Mounier and Lucas Barrios.

Bordeaux were unable to make the most of a 62nd-minute red card to Yannick Cahuzac as they drew 0-0 at Bastia.

On Friday evening, Marseille missed out on the chane to go top of the table as they were beaten 2-1 at Nice.
