A fast-moving winter storm has caused slippery roads and accidents across southern New England before beginning to wind down.A Rhode Island man died when his car collided with a tractor-trailer on I-495 in Hopkinton on Saturday afternoon. Watch NewsCenter 5's reportPolice said Makthra Men, 23, of Cranston, Rhode Island, was driving in the middle lane of I-495 northbound near exit 22 at 1:40 p.m. when he lost control of his car and hit guardrails on both sides of the highway. Men was taken to UMass Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.A tractor-trailer driving behind the man attempted to slow to avoid a crash, but ended up colliding with the car. The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified  as Daniel Matthews, 33, of Northborough. . He was not injured in the crash.
