Murali Gopy has been missing from the screen for a while. The reason, the actor says, is that he was busy scripting films back to back. But this year, he is planning to take on acting projects, starting with Bash Muhammed’s Lukka Chuppi. “The film is all about the hide and seek which happens in everyone’s minds, which is why the title. I play a highly stressed corporate official, while Remya Nambeesan plays my wife,” he says.
However, his character is nothing like the frustrated husband in
Ee Adutha Kalathu and
Lukka Chuppi is a feel-good film, he says. “The film offers a lot of behavioural space for an actor.”
Murali will also be part of a humorous film next, titled Pappanum Varkkiyum. “The film will be directed by Suraj Tom and I will be playing an aged character in it. I can’t reveal more details at this point,” he says. Meanwhile, he is scripting Ratheesh Ambat’s film, which will be of a totally different genre from what he usually does, he says. Murali, who had sung for Left Right Left and 1 By Two, will be singing again for Lukka Chuppi.
