AHMEDABAD: A tied match in the game of cricket is a rare occurrence. But, a match with even scores in a final, a title-deciding match, is all the more rare. However, such an event happened in Ahmedabad in city’s inter-school cricket tournament.
Vidyanagar School and St Kabir School were both declared joint winners of under-19 Diwan Ballubhai School Tournament after they were tied with each other.

Asked to bat first at Motera B ground, Yashvardhan Singh scored 126 off 262 balls while Dhwanil Patel too joined in with 210-ball 101 to help Vidyanagar School post 314 in the first essay.
For St Kabir, Kavish Panchal took five wickets while Raj Majithia chipped in with three more.
In reply, St Kabir batting too fired in unison with half centuries coming from the bats of Mehul Sharma (64 off 164 balls), Devarsh Gandhi (55 off 117balls) and Varshil Shah (55 off 108 balls).
Raj too joined in with 77-ball 49 as they too were bowled out for 314 for a tie. For Vidyanagar School, Dhruvang Patel took six wickets while Parthiv Thakkar scalped a couple, including the final wicket.
