Ford To Update EcoSport In 2015 By Omitting Parts
American manufacturer Ford, had launched its compact SUV the EcoSport in India a while ago. It has received an overwhelming response within the country and everywhere else. They build this vehicle in India and export it to other countries.
Ford has so far not given their vehicle any sort of update. The American manufacturer will be providing a mild update in 2015. This updated model will be offered in Europe primarily as it is the only place Ford's compact SUV has taken a beating.
They will be updating their compact SUV by dropping some vital components of it. Ford will be omitting the spare wheel on the boot door as a 2015 update. Customers can opt for the spare wheel as well at no additional cost. In our opinion we prefer having the stylish alloy wheel showcased at the rear.
EcoSport will not get any change to its power unit and will continue offering two petrol and a single diesel mill:
- A 1.5-litre petrol engine will produce 109 bhp, along with 140 Nm peak torque. It delivers fuel efficiency figures of 15.8 kpl and is mated to a 5-speed manual or an automatic option.
- They offer a 1.5-litre diesel mill, which generates 89 bhp and 204 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and delivers fuel efficiency figures of 22.7 kpl.
- The most popular is their 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which produces 123 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque. It provides exceptional fuel efficiency figures of 18.9 kpl and the engine is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The American manufacturer will also be providing their EcoSport with minor cosmetic changes to the exterior. Interiors will also get a mild makeover, providing the cabin more roomy and premium feel. Ford will also upgrade their Indian compact SUV in due course of time.
