Nine of a family die in road mishap at Rajsamand

Nine men of a family died on the spot on Thursday night after the car in which they were travelling hit a trailer head-on near Baggar toll plaza at Bhim in Rajsamand. Jingle, a six-year-old girl, is the sole survivour who has been admitted to a private hospital. The victims who hail from Sikar were settled in Baroda.

UDAIPUR: Nine men of a family died on the spot on Thursday night after the car in which they were travelling hit a trailer head-on near Baggar toll plaza at Bhim in Rajsamand. Jingle, a six-year-old girl, is the sole survivour who has been admitted to a private hospital. The victims who hail from Sikar were settled in Baroda.
According to police, the family were coming in an Innova car from Baroda to Udaipurvati in Jhunjhunu for attending a marriage function.
The trailer was coming from Bhim and after crossing the toll plaza, the driver had parked the vehicle on the wrong side. While trying to move to the right lane, the speeding Innova collided head-on with the trailer," police said.
According to an eye witness, the impact of the accident was so severe that the roof of the car went flying into the air and all the passengers got badly stuck inside the vehicle.
Following the accident, traffic was disrupted for couple of hours. Police had a tough time to retrieve the bodies. However, they managed to save a six-year-old girl. The survivour, a Class I student could not reveal much about her family.
Collector K C Verma, superintendent of police Shweta Dhankhar, Additional SP Sudhir Joshi coordinated the rescue operation.
The victims have been identified as Khayalilal son of Ratanlal Kumavat, Sanjay and Subhash son of Jeevanlal Kumavat, Gopal, Ramdhan and Manish.
