SHOPPERS and gourmets in Makati City now have a good reason to say “Prost,” as Brotzeit, the popular German restaurant and brewery, opened recently its second branch at Glorietta.
The restaurant, which opened on January 8, offers a wide variety of German and European dishes and beers to cater to those working and frequenting the Makati Business District.
Brotzeit Managing Director Malvin Ang said the new branch offers a spacious restaurant to cater to families and friends who want to enjoy sumptuous German dishes, such as sausages, steaks and salad, as well other food items from Europe.
At the same time, Brotzeit offers a range of German and European beer, including premium Bavarian Weihenstephaner beer.
“Brotzeit combines authentic German-quality food and beer,” Ang said in an interview. “Families and friends can gather here for occasions or just to wind down after work.”
Ang said the menu is written in German, but with translations in English. This way, Filipino guests will learn a little bit of German during their visit.
“We are introducing not only German food, but also [German] culture. Filipinos can now spend quality time with families and friends while they enjoy great food and beer,” Ang said.
Joining the guests at the opening of Brotzeit were Brotzeit CEO Filippo Fanin, as well as German Ambassador Thomas Ossowski and Makati City Mayor JunJun Binay.
The restaurant, which is at the ground floor of Glorietta 4, is designed with spacious seats and a cozy ambiance “to make each customer comfortable.”
Ang said the decision to open a branch in Glorietta is to cater to increasing number of customers at the first branch of Brotzeit in Edsa Shangri-La Mall in Mandaluyong City.
Brotzeit recently introduced a variety of tasty wheat beers on the menu. These include Meine Blondes, which is recommended paired with salads and vegetables; Meine Grünes (organic), an ideal companion for vegetables and heartier fish dishes; and Hopfenweisse, which is perfect with spicy food.
Among the must-attend events at Brotzeit is the festive Oktoberfest held annually in October, as well as Spring Fest.
