Activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India and the police locked horns near the Kanayannur Taluk office on Friday when DYFI members took out a protest march against Finance Minister K.M. Mani.

The activists broke through a barricade erected by the police and burnt an effigy of the Minister in front of the Taluk office. DYFI was protesting against the allegations of corruption levelled against Mr. Mani and were demanding his resignation. The activists sat at the entrance to the office, from where they were removed by the police.
