Gurumurthy challenges Maran to debate

January 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated April 02, 2016 04:41 am IST - Chennai:

S. Gurumurthy, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ideologue, challenged the former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran on Friday for an open debate on the BSNL telephone exchange case.

“I challenge him for a public debate,” said Mr. Gurumurthy, who, in June 2011, first made the allegation that Mr. Dayanidhi Maran, as Telecom Minister, got a mini-telephone exchange of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. set up at his Boat Club residence to serve the Sun Network. Wondering why Mr. Dayanidhi Maran called for an early-morning press conference, Mr. Gurumurthy shot back, “I also want to know why he has not filed a defamation case against me till date.”
