BHOPAL: A blanket of dense fog engulfed the city, which experienced drizzle for second successive day, on Friday morning. Met department officials said there would no relief from fog in Bhopal on Saturday morning.
Visibility was poor till 10 am when fog cleared and the sun peeped through clouds, much to relief of office goers. The city recorded 1.1 mm rain during early morning and northerly and north-easterly winds blew across the city at an average speed of 15 km per hour.
Weather man said light rain or thundershowers are expected in Bhopal in next 24 hours and cloud cover during the day.
Similar weather conditions dominated other parts of the state. Met department officials attributed it to moisture incursion due to a system over west UP. Other parts of the state may see a weak spell of winter rain in next 24 hours, according to weather office.
Jabalpur recorded 3.9 mm in the day and Mandsaur witnessed trace of showers. Weather conditions increased night temperatures while day temperatures slightly went down.
Lowest temperature in the state was recorded at 8 degrees celsius in Rewa and Gwalior. Temperature in four cities of Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur ranged between 8.1 and 22.6 degrees celsius.
Rain or thundershower would occur at many places over north east Madhya Pradesh and Shahdol division. Chances of rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Gwalior and Chambal divisions in next 24 hours.
Weather man forecast dense fog in some areas of Morena, Bhind, Datia, Gwalior and Tikamgarh districts.
