INDORE: Training his guns on Bangladeshi Muslims yet again, state BJP chief Nandkumar Singh Chauhan on Thursday said population of Muslims in the country has increased significantly because of influx of Bangladeshi migrants. This is not only causing threat to people but is also a potential threat to national integration and security.
Chauhan was commenting on the latest census data on population of religious groups, set to be released shortly, which shows a 24% rise in Muslim population between 2001 and 2011, with the community’s share of total population rising from 13.4% to 14.2% over the 10-year period.

“Hindus who are being tortured in Pakistan and Bangladesh are welcome to come to India, because they have no place to go. But people who have demanded a separate country should not come to India. They should stay where they are,” said Chauhan adding that migrant Bangladeshi Muslims in West Bengal and Assam are linked with terror groups and working against the nation.
He went on to say that a large number of Bangladeshi Muslims are living in the country and BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take appropriate action to check this infiltration, which is changing the demography of certain areas of the country.
Evading a direct reply on ghar wapsi, the state unit chief of BJP said the party is against forceful conversion and they are in favour of enacting a strong anti-conversion law.
