Finland Retail Sales Fall In December

Finland's retail sales dropped in December from a year ago, preliminary figures from Statistics Finland showed Friday.

Retail sales value fell 1.9 percent year-on-year in December. Similarly, retail sales volume declined by 1.4 percent.

The agency is set to release final data on February 12.

In daily consumer goods trade, sales value contracted by 0.9 percent and the sales volume by 1.0 percent from the corresponding period of the previous year.

In the whole year 2014, retail sales value and volume decreased 1.0 percent and 1.2 percent, respectively compared with the previous year.
