Neeta Lulla is Mohenjo Daro’s designer

The period drama is set to release on August 12, 2016.

Neeta Lulla This is the acclaimed fashion designer’s fourth film with Gowariker.

After award-winning designer April Ferry’s contract ended, Neeta Lulla stepped in to design the look for Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’. This is the acclaimed fashion designer’s fourth film with Gowariker.

Having designed costumes earlier for period dramas after Ferry’s contract terminated, Lulla was an obvious choice to fill Ferry’s shoes. “April Ferry designed Mohenjo Daro, but when Hrithik’s injury pushed the schedule ahead, April had to leave as her contract period ended in December.Thankfully, Neeta was gracious enough to come on board and work from where April left off. Now, she will be handling the styling and designing the costumes for the cast.I am glad because it is wonderful to be working with Neeta again,” said Ashutosh Gowarikar, describing how Lulla was roped in as the costume designer for Mohenjo Daro.

While Lulla has designed costumes for period films right from Kisna, Jodha Akbar, Kochadaiyyan and more, one wonders what sources will Lulla refer to while designing costumes for Mohenjo Daro as there are not too many references available.
While there are sufficient images of the Indus Valley sites, one does not really know what Harappans looked like.It will be interesting to see what Lulla has in mind.
