A small enclave of houses has been built at Seaview Gate off the main Dublin road in Shankill. With the showhouse already gone sale agreed, two four-bedroom semi-detached homes and one five-bed detached remain.

Built by Orchid Homes, which has acquired sites at Church Road in Greystones and at Balbriggan for future development, these properties are built over three floors and on sale for €525,000 and €695,000 respectively.

The four-bed is 1,565 sq ft and comprises a kitchen/dining room with utility off. There is a living room and guest WC on the ground floor while the first floor has three bedrooms, one ensuite and the main bathroom. The second floor includes a master bedroom and ensuite with under-eaves storage.

The five-bed measures 2,077 sq ft and has a different ground-floor layout. The kitchen/dining room is much larger at 18'4" x 20' 4" and it too has a utility room. This floor also has a study in addition to the living room and WC with a cloakroom. The first floor has four beds, again, one ensuite with a family bathroom while the second floor has the master suite.

Kitchens are designed by Colette Ward and include a range of Zanussi appliances. Buyers can select from a range of floor coverings.

A key feature is the range of eco-friendly solutions leading to the A3 BER rating, including photovoltaic panels on the roof, solar collector water heating system and rainwater harvesting system. Exteriors are in red brick and cream render with dark grey window surrounds and granite sills. There are front and rear lawns, with a Barna shed.

Shankill is a busy village but there is plenty of scope for winding down. The beach is a short walk away, while there are bowls and tennis at adjacent clubs. Old Connaught is the haunt for golfers and St Anne's Park has playgrounds and playing fields for families. Access to transport is served by a DART station and the Cherrywood Luas stop is less than 3km. Viewing is by private appointment but is available this weekend by contacting the agent.
