Reddy to walk out of prison today, with legs tied
C ity police commissioner MN Reddi has ordered prohibitory orders in half a kilometre radius around Parappana Agrahara Prison. The orders under Section 144 of the IPC comes in the wake of former minister Janardhan Reddy being granted bail by the Supreme Court and his expected release from prison on Friday.

The prohibitory orders will be in place for two days on January 22 and January 23. Sources say that the orders came as a large number of supporters of the Ballari strongman are expected to welcome his release from jail after three and a half years in prison.
According to sources, the information collected by the intelligence bureau a large presence of followers of Reddy may create law and order problem in the vicinity of the prison.

It may be recalled that when Reddy was brought to the City Civil and Sessions Court in 2012, it triggered a fight between police, advocates and journalists. One of the rumours during the time was that it was triggered by supporters of Reddy.
The Supreme Court granted bail to Reddy in the Obulapuram mining case which was the first case against him. He was granted bail in the 'cash for bail' case in Andhra Pradesh earlier. There were five FIRs against Reddy in Karnataka and he had obtained bail in all of them earlier. He completed the formality of executing the bond in one of the cases in Karnataka only on Thursday. Similarly the bond was executed in Andhra Pradesh and the release order is expected to arrive on Friday morning. Formalities will take about a hour and he is expected to walk free at 11 am.
The SC imposed conditions on Reddy while granting him bail. These include two sureties of Rs 10 lakh each, not to leave the country without the permission of the court, surrender of passport to the court, not to influence any witness and not to tamper with evidence. However, the most important restraint as for as the mining baron is concerned is the restraint on visiting Ballari and Anantapur and Cuddapah districts in Andhra Pradesh, which are seen as the core of his mining activities.
