Anbumani told to appear in court in tollgate case

January 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - VILLUPURAM:

The Ulundurpet Judicial Magistrate Court-I has directed Anbumani Ramadoss, MP and youth wing leader of the Pattali Makkal Katchi, to appear before the court in connection with the tollgate incident case on February 10.

Magistrate Palani passed the orders on Wednesday as all six others named in the case appeared before the court except Dr. Ramadoss.

It may be noted that when Dr. Ramadoss was passing through the Chennai — Tiruchi National Highway in August 2014, his convoy was stopped at the Sengurichi tollgate for collection of the levy. However those accompanying him objected to it. In the ensuing scuffle tollgate staff Santhosh Kumar was beaten up and the tollgate chambers ransacked.

On the complaint of Santhosh Kumar the police had registered cases against seven persons, including Dr. Ramadoss.

All six others named in the case appeared on Wednesday except Anbumani Ramadoss
