Monali Thakur: I want to do more Bollywood films, but when the time is right
Her first song — 'Zara Zara Touch Me' from Race — earned her a lot of accolades. But it was the song 'Sawaar Loon' from Lootera that made Monali Thakur a household name. The pretty Bong girl, who shot to fame as a contestant of Indian Idol 2, is back on the small screen as she dons the hat of a captain in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Masters.
Sharing her happiness, Monali says, “It feels great to be part of a show which is full of musical people.
There’s so much happiness on the sets — be it Alkaji (Yagnik), Shaan or Aditya (Narayan). There are so many talented kids to be with and train. It feels great to be on such a huge platform and I’m enjoying this journey.”

Ask her if she is planning to come up with a single or an album and she says, “I have been thinking about it. Singles and albums are catching up and I feel this is the right time to come out with one.”
Monali had an eventful 2014 as she made her debut as the lead actress of a Bollywood film. Monali says, “Last year was awesome as I got an opportunity to be part of a movie as wonderful as Lakshmi. I look forward to doing more movies but will give the script a proper thought before taking up anything.”
Monali, who seems to have her hands full with all the anchoring, mentoring and playback says “I’m lucky I’m able to explore a variety of things — be it acting, dancing, singing — with the opportunities I have got till now. I want to do more Bollywood films and work with some wonderful minds in the industry in the near future.”
