Mostly, SSG is only deployed for special operations like direct action like beheading of soldiers in posts and to give fine tuning to rangers. They are also called Black Storks or Maroon Berets. Indian agencies are also worried as normally these SSG commandos are not used near the border.

These SSG commandos were also deployed by Pakistan army in Kargil war and dozens of them were killed during our army operations in Kargil. Sources said on December 31, 2014, the Pak action in Samba Sector in Jammu was also done by LeT and JeM terrorists with the help of SSG from Rajeeb Shahid Post of 24 PNR, Pakistan. With the help of these commandos, 8 to 10 terrorists attacked a BSF patrol party near BSF Regal Post killing one jawan and injuring an officer.

Intelligence sources said recently they have intercepted Pakistani message for major operations in J-K and other parts of country during the time the US President will be in India. "They have mobilised all their resources so that with the help of these SSG commandoes, terrorists can cross over this side and they have planned Peshawar-type suicide attack on soft targets like army public schools and BSF schools. After getting intelligence inputs, army and BSF have declared holidays to school children from January 22 to January 28, 2014 in Jammu," a source said.

Intelligence sources said Pak SSG commandoos have been deployed all along LoC and IB to boost moral of the Pak army and Pak Rangers so that maximum suicide groups can be sent to target soft areas like temples, crowded places where mostly women and children are seen, army and BSF posts and some of the army units, where families are staying.

Intelligence agencies have spotted about 70 to 100 Let, Jem and HM terrorists in 4-5 groups in some of Pakistani areas near the zero line across Sialkot and Shakergarh areas which includes Mashroor Bada Bhai(opposite to our Hiranagar border), Abiyal Dogra(opposite to our Hiranagar border),Sukho Chack and Chack Amru(opposite to our Samba Sector), Sukhama, Darman and Dhandar(opposite to our Samba Sector), Chaprar (opposite to RS Pura Sector), Akrama Bad and Pul Bajwa (opposite Pargwal Sector), Zaffarwal (opposite Ramgarh Sector and Basantar River).

Intelligence agencies have alerted BSF that Pakistan will try to send these suicide bombers via Samba and Arnia Sectors of Jammu because this area is ravine and also forest type area and during fog time BSF Jawan can not watch movements of terrorists after 10 metres and even their night vision devices and thermal Imagers are not working during fog.
