Alan Carr and Adele are friends. Fact.

And we all know friends share things, like for example when their latest album might be released. Not these two.

Fresh from his win at the National Television Awards, Alan told Newsbeat he is constantly being asked about the singer's next album. "I get it in the street. I'm like 'I don't bloomin know!'"

Adele has kept a low profile since giving birth to her son in October 2012.

We revealed the singer was working on new music in September and her latest project is rumoured to be called 24.

That's in keeping with naming her albums after her age when she started working on them - her previous efforts were titled 19 and 21.

Alan, who picked up an award for best Chat Show Host, was asked when we might see his best mate performing again.

"When she's finished that album," he said.

He then joked: "I've heard it and personally I don't like punk or swearing, so it's not my favourite. At this rate it will be called 98."

The presenter and comedian then brought up 80s singer Sinitta - who once dated Simon Cowell.

"You know when people ask Sinitta about Simon Cowell? That's how I feel (when being asked about Adele)."
