"When I listened to [current Prime Minister] Arseniy Yatseniuk and [current President] Petro Poroshenko speaking from the Maidan stage, I expected that if they came to power they would really introduce immediately zero tolerance for corruption," Fiala said.

"I didn’t think that they would be able to repeat the mistakes of [former President] Viktor Yushchenko and [former Prime Minister] Yulia Tymoshenko, which were made after the Orange Revolution,” he said.

“And I didn’t expect that society would allow them to repeat those mistakes.”

According to Fiala, the situation in the country is about the same as it was in 2005.

"It’s true, there is no organized mafia corruption, which was created by [former President] Viktor Yanukovych, but in general there is a lot of corruption, and it is everywhere, including the political parties of the government,” he said.

“It’s a big disappointment for me, business and society.

"During the regime of Yanukovych they said that ‘the fish rots from the head’. I would give another three months to the present leadership of the country before they start repeating the same thing.”
