INDORE: Celebrating the spirit of Republic Day, a host of events, including dance, singing competition, poets meet and essay writing are planned by different organizations.
Annual campaign of Sanstha Seva Surbhi, ‘Jhanda uncha rahe hamara’ would be inaugurated on January 22 at Regal Square where a model of India Gate has been erected. An inter-school group song competition would be organized on January 23 at Pritamlal Dua auditorium.
Martyr Parihar Singh’s wife Poonam Parihar would be the chief guest on the occasion. The army man was killed in Poonch sector firing in October 2014.
On R-Day eve, a musical evening titled ‘Ek shaam shaheedon ke naam’ would be organized jointly by Ras Bharti and Kailasa Foundation. Martyrs of the freedom struggle would be remembered on the occasion. A dance competition on patriotic songs would also be organized.
CBSE is organizing an essay writing competition for school students ahead of Republic Day. Five topics have been posted on the CBSE website for the competition, for which five entries from each school have been requested. 36 best essays would be given a cash prize of Rs. 2,500 each. Essays can be uploaded on the CBSE website latest by January 28.
