No one can take land from farmers: Congress
GREATER NOIDA: Senior Congress functionaries Madhusudan Mistry and Nirmal Khatri launched an attack on the Modi government for its land acquisition ordinance on Wednesday while addressing farmers at Mirzapur village in Greater Noida.
“Nature has given us the land. No force can take it away from us” said Mistry, AICC’s general secretary UP. He promised the farmers that the party would keep fighting fearlessly for their rights.

Mistri said a nexus of private builders and the state government had cheated innocent farmers by taking away their lands at very low price and handing it to farmers to make profits. “UPA government had brought the pro-farmer Land Acquisition Act after discussion and consultation with farmers’ bodies and all political parties, including BJP,” he said, adding that now the Modi government had brought the anti-farmer ordinance.
This was the third rally held by Congress this month. Former rural development minister Jairam Ramesh — who piloted the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 — had recently addressed a meet at Bhatta Parsaul a day after Congress Working Committee gave its approval to hold a nationwide stir against the ordinance.
