The daughter of deceased Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein is supplementing her income in Jordan by selling an jewelry inspired by the “Butcher of Baghdad.”
Jordanian sales brochure obtained by The Daily Mail details an interview featuring Raghad Saddam Hussein talking about her new business venture.
During one part of the interview, Ms. Hussein said of a $2,000 bracelet she created, “My dad Saddam Hussein gave me this turquoise many years ago and I kept it safe until three years ago. I chose to place it in this bracelet and create a similar design for those who like this design and want to keep it,” the newspaper reported Wednesday.
Ms. Hussein, 46, also has crafted a set of earrings inspired by her late husband, Hussein Kamel al-Majid, who her father executed for desertion in 1996, The Daily Mail reported. The two divorced just days before he was killed.
The newspaper added that Ms. Hussein, who has publicly praised the Islamic State group’s attacks in her home country, lives a lavish lifestyle in Jordan. The source of her income is unknown.
Saddam Hussein was put to death by the Iraqi government in 2006, roughly three years after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
