BURDWAN: Trinamul MP
Abhisek Banerjee on Wednesday refuted the allegation levelled by
Rahul Sinha that the state government had not provided a police pilot car to
Amit Shah on Tuesday.
Abhisek claimed that the BJP had instead refused to take a pilot car. “We provided them but they had refused. Later, they brought false allegations,” he added.
Speaking at a rally of
Trinamool congress at Chowringhee football maidan in Burdwan, Abhisek said that earlier Shah had also come for campaigning in Chowrignhee by-polls, while Trinamool’s Nayana Bandopadhyay had won from the seat.
“The more he comes to our state, the more we will win seats. From Hills to Kakdwip, we have won college elections polls. We will win the civic polls as well,” he added.
“They spread rumours that Manish Gupta, Sadhan Pandey, Robi Ranjan Chattopadhay and
Rachpal Singh will join BJP. But, they are all with us. They will not be able to split our party,” he assured the party workers.
He also said that chief minister
Mamata Banerjee’s image could not be tainted by bringing in allegations of scam against the party’s leaders.
“Rahul Sinha, Joyprokash Das and Ritesh Tewari can’t even win a civic poll and they talk of forming the government here in 2016. Shah can hardly understand Bengali. He does not know the culture and tradition of Bengal,” he said.
