Updates include new colour options on the palette, while there is the new 7-speed DCT gearbox, flex steer system and fake engine sound unit allows the driver to choose from 6 different sounds.

The updated 2015 Veloster is limited to the South Korean market for now

Hyundai has unveiled the 2015 Veloster sporty hatchback in its home market South Korea that comes with subtle aesthetic updates along with major mechanical upgrades over the outgoing version. Starting with the aesthetics, the 2015 Veloster gets new darker silver trims on the outside, while exterior colour options have been increased by three including a new matte finish. On the inside, the Veloster gets updated with new two-tone colour options for the seats, door and centre console, while the instrument cluster has been mildly tweaked.

On the mechanical front, the 2015 Hyundai Veloster gets the most significant update of all with the 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) replacing the standard 6-speed unit found on the Turbo model. The new transmission is paired to a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine producing 201 PS of power and 264 Nm of torque. In addition, Hyundai has added an ‘engine sound equalizer’ that essentially offers the ability to both adjust the volume and select from the six different fake engine sounds.

Lastly, the updates for the 2015 Hyundai Veloster also include a new sports steering wheel that comes equipped with the company’s Flex Steer system and allows the driver to select between different steering weight modes for improved feedback. It is still unclear though if the Korean automaker will be launching the updated version in other markets across Europe and the US. Hyundai has set a price tag of 23.50 million Won (Rs. 13.56 lakhs) on the new Veloster.
