Extortion call to Kutch trader: Gujarat Police begins probe in UP

A team of Gujarat police began its search operations in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh to nab the miscreants who had allegedly made a call to a Kutch-based trader demanding extortion money of Rs 2 crore from him.
The team led by Inspector V P Goel reached Muzaffarnagar yesterday and began their search operations, police said.
Satish Kumar, resident of Kutch district, received a call a few days ago from some persons who demanded extortion money of Rs 2 crore from him, police said, adding, the call was traced to Muzaffarnagar.
Police have raided several places in the district in search of the accused.
A case has been registered against unidentified miscreants in this connection and efforts are on to nab them, police said.
