Camel bites man to death in Ahmedabad

Govind Trivedi, who was reportedly inebriated at the time of the incident had strayed too close to the camel. The camel, which had been tied up next to the main road while its owner Lalisinh Rajput had gone to the nearby market, got irritated and bit Trivedi in the head.

Camel bites man to death in Ahmedabad

A builder in Ahmedabad died after he was bitten in the head by a camel on Sunday night.

Govind Trivedi, 45, who was reportedly inebriated at the time of the incident had strayed too close to the camel. The camel, which had been tied up next to the main road while its owner Lalisinh Rajput had gone to the nearby market, got irritated and bit Trivedi in the head.

The camel had been left in the care of Phoola Meena while Rajput had gone to the market in Bapunagar district.

When Meena heard Trivedi's cries, he rushed to his help, but was also injured when he was bitten on the leg by the camel, the Times of India reported.

By the time the camel let go of Trivedi's head, it was already too late. Trivedi died on the spot

Meena was later thrashed by the villagers for not taking care of the camel properly. He was later taken to the hospital by the police.

A case of accidental death has been registered.
