DJ Suga, host of Heart FM's Afternoon Drive, lives in Upper East Side, Woodstock, with her baby son. "I spend a lot of time in the country but this is my lock-up-and-go space," says Suga, aka Rochelle Scheepers.

Down time

My favourite way to spend a day off is to cook. I love testing new recipes and more often than not I put my own spin on them. My guilty pleasure is watching series on DVD. I love CSI.

I love nothing more than exploring markets. Because the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock is so popular, I like to get there early, buy my fresh produce for the week, take one turn of the whole market then leave.

My best venue for live music is Zula Sound Bar.

Food spots

Woodstock has some great restaurants: there's The Kitchen in Sir Lowry Road that has amazing salads. I also love The Test Kitchen in Albert Road for dinner because the food is not only beautiful, it's delicious.

When coffee calls there is a Vida e Caffè downstairs in Upper East Side, and the coffee is always lovely.

I love the Woodstock Lounge for sundowners. On sunny days, the large windows are open and you feel part of the hustle and bustle of Roodebloem Street.

Body works

My favourite hair salon is Kavanagh's in Sea Point. I shop for clothes mainly online. I adore Errol Arendz and Desray.

Great outdoors

I love Deer Park Café in Vredehoek because there is a coffee shop by a playground so my girlfriends can watch their kids while we have breakfast.

I used to live on Clifton 4th so that will always hold a special place in my heart.
