JAMMU, Jan 20: All India Council Forum (AICF) , Jammu Province in its meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its convener, Kapil Dev Sharma, sought reduction in fares of all types of public transports.
The meeting expressed resentment on the silence maintained by the administration on reduction of fares of public transports when petrol and Diesel prices have dropped nine and six times, respectively after the last hike in passanger fares.
The Forum appealed Governor NN Vohra to intervene personally and direct the transport authorities to form a committee to consider the reduction of existing fairs of all public transports, as Kathua RTO has already formed such a committee to consider the demand of consumers to cut down fares of public transports.
